SHANNON NOLL AND THE SCREAMING JETS READY TO LET LOOSE ON DIRTY ROCKIN’ SCOUNDRELS TOUR
Two of Australia’s finest rock acts unite for the first time for ten very special shows.Shannon Noll and The Screaming Jets met by chance at gig in Southern Queensland and over a bunch of beers, came up with the idea that it would be great to tour together some day! That day has now arrived as the two acts hit the road together in October, for what is sure to be Spring’s most electric rock double-bill – the Dirty Rockin’ Scoundrels Tour.
Noll, currently in the midst of his intimate, acoustic In The Raw run of dates, is itching to get out there and play a blinder of a rock set. “Acoustic shows are fabulous, you get to create different versions of songs, but blasting out hard with a full band, electric set is what I really love doing. It reminds me of being in bands as a teenager, with my brothers, when we just went for it in every live show we did. I am a massive fan of the Jets and I can’t wait to hit the road with them. This is going to be a show that people talk about for a long time, we can guarantee you that!”.
For twenty years, The Screaming Jets have rocked Aussie stages with the best of them, gathering up a fiercely passionate bunch of fans along the way. For Dave, Paul, Izzy, Mickl and Scotty, playing with Shannon and his band is an exciting prospect. Gleeson says, “I hear Shannon really rips into his live set and we can’t wait to get out on the road with him and the band. Every night both bands will be trying to out-rock each other. I reckon punters at these shows are going to get great value for money and the Jets - we’re rockin’ as hard as we ever have.” The Dirty Rockin’ Scoundrels Tour kicks off in Penrith on 7th October, with a further four NSW shows rolling out from there, including a visit to The Screaming Jets’ hometown of Newcastle on Friday 9th October, where The Jets will headline what’s sure to be one hell of a memorable gig! The tour then winds down to Melbourne from 14th October, where the two bands will hit the suburbs for five shows, concluding in Doncaster on 18th October. “They’ll get a glimpse of what goes on behind the scenes and, most importantly I’ll be able to hear from them direct, and learn what they want to see and hear.”
SNFC will run a range of competitions, weekly, monthly, annually and randomly, with prizes from signed one-off memorabilia to the chance to help choose the music for his next album.
The fan club will officially launch in August, but fans can sign up now and start enjoying the benefits of membership, register for prizes, share Shannon’s thoughts and watch a sample of the behind the scenes video footage that only members will have access to.

Shannon Noll makes his UK album debut with 'What Matters The Most' - released May 4
Shannon Noll, Australia’s ‘leading male artist’, is set to take his music global, with the release of ‘What Matters The Most’ his debut UK album, released by RCA on May 4. His soaring rock track ’Shine’ is the single release out on April 27.
Shannon burst onto the Australian music scene just five years ago and has never looked back. He has forged a career that has re-written Australian chart history; a career born of necessity after personal tragedy. With the resounding chorus of his first UK single ‘Shine’ firmly ringing in his ears, proclaiming ‘this is the time, the day that we’ve been waiting for’, Shannon Noll is now ready to take the UK by storm.
A last-minute entrant to the competition, in 2003, he wowed judges and the entire nation to come runner up in the first ever Australian Idol. In the short five years since then, Shannon Noll has achieved a record-breaking 10 consecutive top 10 singles including 5 Number One’s, his songs have become official sports anthems not only in Australia but also in the UK (Cricket on Channel 5) and the US, and the combined success of his album sales in Australia has given Shannon platinum selling status 11 times over. Not bad for a farmer’s son from Condobolin, Australia!
What Matters The Most is 12 tracks of genuine, uplifting and honest music with heart and soul. From opener ‘Shine’ with its call to action - ‘Get up, get up, and lift your head’ - to the rabble rousing ‘Loud’, which pointedly asks the listener, ‘Who would ever believe that this could happen to me?’ the songs are a reflection on the last five years going from near destitution to the top of the charts. The heartfelt ballad ‘Now I Run’, is particularly poignant, inspired by the tragic death of his father, which spurred Shannon to join Idol. The album displays the full repertoire of Shannon’s skills, demonstrating exactly why he is one of Australia’s biggest selling artists, and already considered an icon in his home country.
Shannon is not without famous fans either; Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora co-wrote and played on the album track ‘Sorry Is Just Too Late’. About working with Shannon, Richie commented, ‘Shannon is a rock and roll steed… a classic voice with a contemporary flair. We had a great time working together.’ Shannon also received the help of a certain Mr Bryan Adams, who co-wrote the song ‘Drive’ and later invited Shannon out on tour with him as main support.
His duet with Natalie Bassingthwaite (Rogue Traders), of the Kate Bush / Peter Gabriel classic ‘Don’t Give Up’ echoes the entire sentiment of the album and compliments the 11 other songs that make up ‘What Matters The Most’.
To celebrate the release of his album, Shannon will be playing a one-off show at the 02 Shepherd’s Bush Empire on Friday 8 May, and will be hitting the stage in June with a role in the UK arena tour of Jeff Wayne’s Musical Version of The War Of The Worlds opposite Jennifer Ellison.
The album What Matters The Most is released on 4 May 2009 on RCA
The first single, ‘Shine’ is released 27 April
